What do you do to
conserve water?

For more than 20 years, Hillsborough County Water Resource Services has managed a committed conservation program to educate customers on how to save water. Thanks to the good people of Hillsborough, the County is currently saving 32 million gallons of water every single day. Hillsborough County developed this site to continue to educate citizens on the efforts of the County to preserve our most precious natural resource: water.

With over 5,000 miles of pipelines and 160,000 accounts, WRS is the fifth largest water/ wastewater utility in the state of Florida.   There are currently over 16,000 reclaimed water customers with plans to connect an additional 5,000 homes in coming years. This makes our "retail residential" reclaimed water program the largest in Florida and the 8th largest in the country.

People, Programs and Planning play a significant role in the management of our water resources. Every individual can do their part to save water – from reducing personal water consumption to attending gardening and Water Wise classes.  If every citizen of Hillsborough County does a little, it adds up to a lot.  Together, we can ensure our quality of life is preserved for generations to come.
